Every once in a while we all need to break out of the box with our fashion choices. Now that spring has sprung and we are transitioning into the brighter and more playful summer styles, it’s a delight to freshen up what we are wearing. What better way to do that than with some fun and, maybe just a little, crazy footwear? We all have our flips and our pretty strappy heels, but let’s look at some shoes that really pop.
Here are some great brands that really deliver in the “I’ve got to find something to wear with these shoes and somewhere to go department.”
Poetic Licence produces wonderfully fun shoes. Their use of colors, fabrics and patterns is totally unique. These are shoes that you will want an excuse to wear. For a big event, the Exclusive Delight, really in any color, is a hit.
The Butter Me Up actually has daisies in the Lucite heel. Maybe that’s a bit too much, but you need to give credit to these folks for having such a good time with their designs.
Seychelles footwear is pretty and romantic, but with an edge. These shoes really flatter your feet and legs. The Amethyst heel is simply a beautiful shoe. I love the detail of the polka dots.
The Stand and Deliver is a great basic flat, but the added buckles make it a shoe that can turn a simple outfit into a put together look.
Miz Mooz may seem a little tame at this point in our conversation, but I absolutely love this brand and must admit to having multiple pairs in my closet. Miz Mooz favors a lot of wooden soles and a vintage look. A personal favorite is an older version of the Petra sandal. The brown and turquoise leather is so beautiful and stylish, yet still manages to go with a lot of items in my closet.
All Miz Mooz shoes are made by hand and many sport a cushioned lining – making them comfortable enough to wear all day.
Best part: all of these brands are reasonably priced, so you don’t have to do any calculations of how many times you will wear them.
What are the shoes that you build an outfit around? Any pair you’ve held onto forever because you love even just seeing them on the shelf? This is that pair for me:
